I spent a few hours to see what my local nesting Magpie would swoop at. My Magpie loves helmets – any colour, especially those with circles on the back (we heard a rumour that a magpies wouldn’t swoop a helmet with eyes on it). Even standing still with the helmet on is considered a threat and will result in a swoop. Running with a helmet on will result in an attack while running or even cycling with no helmet was ignored.
